Esther's Chair offers audiences a chance to recognize and/or honor a friend or family member who has dealt with depression or anxiety - someone who is unable to attend this performance. For $10, patrons can purchase a seat in their loved one's name and add an empty chair to the theatre at the time of the performance.
By populating the audience with deliberately empty seats, this initiative aims to symbolically highlight the myriad of factors contributing to an audience member's absence at any given performance. Proceeds from Esther's Chair during the run of The Little Match Girl Passion will benefit NoStigmas which advocates for mental health and suicide awareness by empowering allies through education, support, and action.
