FACILITY THEATRE ANNOUNCES CASTING FOR JEN SILVERMAN’S “PHOEBE IN WINTER"

Featuring Founding Members Kirk Anderson and Shawna Franks

(Chicago, IL) – Facility Theatre is proud to announce casting for Jen Silverman’s Phoebe in Winter to be directed by resident director Dado. The cast will include company members Kirk Anderson, Shawna Franks, Maria Stephens, and Elliot Baker, as well as guest artists Jacob Alexander and David Dowd.

Phoebe in Winter is Jen Silverman’s post-war fable. Three brothers return home from a distant war preparing to settle into their old lives, but a knock at the door brings other plans. A woman named Phoebe accuses them of killing her own three brothers and demands reparations--that they must become her new family instead.

Dado returns to Facility after her dramatic staging of David Lang’s The Little Match Girl Passion. She is an acclaimed theater practitioner and visual artist in the Chicagoland area and an ensemble member with A Red Orchid Theatre. She received critical acclaim for her restaging of A Red Orchid Theatre's Simpatico at the McCarter Theatre.

Artistic Director Kirk Anderson is a long time theatre artist in Chicago. He has been a member of both European Repertory Theatre and TUTA. In addition, he has worked at Steppenwolf, Mary Archie, Trapdoor Theatre, Theatre Oobleck, Goodman Theatre, and Chicago Children’s Theatre.

Shawna Franks played Vivian in Facility’s first incubator production The Silence That Follows. She originated the role of Dottie in Killer Joe by Tracy Letts and was the founding Artistic Director of Space 55 Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona.

Maria Stephens has been seen on Facility’s stages for The LIttle Match Girl Passion and as Norma in The Silence That Follows. Elsewhere in Chicago Maria has worked with The Gift Theatre, Trap Door, The Artistic Home, The Factory, Apple Tree Theatre, and The Mammals.

Elliot Baker is a writer, actor and teaching artist who works between the cities of Chicago and London. His play, The Silence That Follows, was produced by Facility at A Red Orchid Theatre in the Summer of 2016. As an actor, Elliot has appeared in plays at A Red Orchid Theatre, Piccolo Theatre, and Coriolis Theatre.
