Sarah Thompson Johansen, Soprano, "provides much joy" in her nuanced and "vocally strong" performances throughout the Midwest. As an avid interpreter of contemporary classical music, her recent roles include Ruth Margraff and Phil Fried's The Locket Arias (Nicchia), Cosmic Ray and the Amazing Chris (Steampunk Girl), Little Women (Beth), Dark Sisters (Zina), and Helen in the recording of Ross Crean’s The Great God Pan (Navona Records/NAXOS of America). Other favorite regional productions include Grétry's Zémire et Azor (Lisbe), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), and Le nozze di Figaro (Susanna). She is a member of The Lira Ensemble, the United States' only professional performing arts organization dedicated to Polish music, and performs regularly with Chicago Opera Playhouse, Opera on Tap Chicago, and New Brew Chicago.
